Privacy policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
This policy covers the readwarden.com website: what it collects, why, and what we do with it. It does not cover inmate message data handled during a pilot. That data is governed by the written pilot agreement signed with each agency, under that agency's own policies.
What we collect
- Pilot request form. Your name, title, agency, work email, and anything else you choose to enter. The form sends this to us by email so we can reply.
- Email you send us. If you write to admin@readwarden.com, we keep the message and your address to answer it.
- Usage analytics. We run a self-hosted instance of Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool. It counts page views and button clicks, and records the browser, device type, country and referring site. It sets no cookies and does not identify you personally.
- Server logs. Our hosting keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party ad pixels on this site.
- We do not add you to a mailing list. We reply to your request, and that is all.
Who processes it
The site runs on servers we operate. Form submissions are relayed by an email delivery provider to our inbox. These providers handle the data only to deliver the service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep pilot requests and email correspondence while we are in contact with your agency, and delete them on request. Analytics are kept in aggregate.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email admin@readwarden.com. We answer within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
